Sub Committees

The Parish Council does a lot of work behind the scenes. Due to the size and nature of the parish, it is not possible for all its work to be done at the monthly meetings, so committees and subcommittees have been set up to carry out the main administrative and development tasks.

Finance and Planning committees may be given 'delegated powers' by full council, which means they can make decisions on behalf of the Council. However, most of the committees give a recommendation to the Council for the Council to consider. All the committees regularly report back to the Council.

Current subcommittees include the Sports Pavilions Management Committee which has day-to-day responsibility for the running of the sports pavilion and recreation ground and Broadclyst Traffic Group which was set up to look at traffic issues in the parish.

Steering Groups
The Neighbourhood Plan is being prepared by a Steering Group comprising Councillors and Members of Public

Associated Groups
Some work within the community is carried out by voluntary groups and charities such as Clyst Caring and Broadclyst VIP's.
These groups operate independently of Council but are supported as required.

Mmebers of the public are welcome to join subcommittees, the wealth of knowledge and experience different people can bring is very welcome and gratefully received.
