Fun Day 2018

Broadclyst Fun Day and family dog show 2018 will take place on the Recreation ground, Broadclyst on Saturday 23rd June between 10.30am and 5pm.

Come along this Saturday to our annual fun day and family dog show! Free entry! For our younger guests we have: ferret-walking, face-painting, magic shows, glitter tattoos, hair-braiding, giant inflatable slide/bouncy castle, and lots of kids activities, many of which are FREE or have a nominal small charge. The young at heart will enjoy the classic motorbikes display (static), craft stalls, raffle, gate-building with the National Trust, and the fact that you won’t have to spend a fortune keeping the kids entertained - our ethos is family affordable fun!

Fancy trying something a little different? We are delighted to welcome Edcot Education to the fun day this year, and they will be offering the chance for you to get smelting with their earth forge and make your own jewellery for free!

If you’re feeling sporty, why not try the penalty shoot-out; shoot some netball, find out more about girls rugby with Exeter Saracens, or for something a little different have a roll-up on our bowling green. No need to pack a picnic! You can grab something off the BBQ or jacket potato, buy from a selection of filled rolls, and enjoy a cream tea and ice cream.

Enjoy our many community groups stalls including the French Twinners and Gardening Club; find out more about the Great Broadclyst Scarecrow hunt; find out what the Guides and Brownies have been doing this term. If it all gets a bit too much, you can retreat to the safety of the beer tent and listen to some acoustic music.

The dog show starts at 11am (entries on the field), the kids races at 2pm, and the egg throw finale at 4pm. Free parking is available in the field by the church, or the recreation ground is just a 2-minute walk from the Number 1 Exeter-Cullompton bus route (get off by the Spice and Stone, or Red Lion).

Who are we? Broadclyst Fun Day is an annual not-for-profit community event organised by Broadclyst Parish Council supported by the National Trust.

What do we do? The Fun Day offers community groups the opportunity to promote their work and attract new members, as well as benefitting from a share of the ‘pot’ into which takings from commercial pitch fees, dog show takings and raffle monies are paid.
